Ans: Penetrametre should be made of same material as that of the specimen.
The selection of IQI should be made as:-
(A) For carbon steel & low Alloy steel:- Carbon Steel IQI
(B) For High Alloy Steel & Stainless steel: Stainless Steel IQI
(C) For Aluminum & Aluminium Alloy: Aluminum IQI
(D) Copper & Copper Alloy: Copper IQI
